As you may have seen this is a freshly started blog and there are still things to be added and fixed. But I thought to introduce myself more properly and to write some words about what you can expect if you decide to “stay in touch” and continue reading. You can also see a summary of this in the site “About”.
My name is Monika and I’m currently 17 years old. I am from Norway and live in the middle of my country, so to speak. My life may not be too interesting, as I usually just go to school (second year at high school, general subjects and design and art) or work at a store a few days a week. As for my hobbies, photography, writing, reading, kickboxing, music and hanging out with friends pretty sums it all up.
I am also fond of learning about other cultures. I have been writing letters since 2009 now, and during this time I’ve had several penpals all over the world, representing all the continents. So if you read this and want a penpal, feel free to write me.
Human and animal rights are subjects I want to fight for. I am not satisfied with the world as it is now, where animals are being used for entertainment, clothes or testing, and where people are raped, killed, hurt in other ways or do not have the ability to live a “normal”, peaceful life.
On this blog I want to share my opinions about different subjects regarding these rights. At school next year I will add two subjects to my schedule; communication and culture (CC) and politics and human rights (phr). Through these subjects I am sure I will find a lot of interesting subjects to write about here; and of course I already have some specific cases to write about.
I hope to see some people following me, wanting to share their own opinions and tell me whether we agree or not on the different topics. So I really hope to see this becoming “an area of discussion”. I can also tell you I will be able to answer comments in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, English or Spanish – however, I will try to answer in English to let as many as possible be able to understand.
Until next time; take care – and fight for what you believe in!
